Saddleworth Musical Society

Saddleworth Musical Society

Facebook  Twitter

The Society was formed in September 1958 and continues to be the only Society in the Saddleworth area performing a varied annual programme of choral and musical items usually with full orchestra.
The Society is a Registered Charity. No. 503676, is a member of the Greater Manchester Drama Federation (GMDF) and is affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA)
The annual programme normally includes:
A show/operetta in October
A Christmas charity concert in December
A Spring choral concert in May
Other activities, including social events, are also held during the year.

We pride ourselves on our choral ability, but like many other amateur societies we always welcome new members, particularly bass, baritone and tenor voices.

Non-singers are also welcome to help front-of- house, stage set building and other social activities.

Shout Out UK

We are based at Branwood Preparatory School, Monton, Salford M30 9HL but are in no way affiliated with the school, we simply hire it as a venue.

We take students aged 3 - 16 years.
Run by a group of experienced encouraging teaching staff with strong connections to the professional world of dance, theatre and television, Shout Out UK's Summer School offers a vibrant, stimulating and inspiring experience which is rarely found in the UK.
And unlike other Dance and Drama schools in the area we don’t simply encourage students to enter one-off competitions or teach techniques which never see the lights of the stage.
With our unique approach, pupils will experience all areas of performance including dance, choreography, set and costume design, acting and singing to create an exceptional all-round theatrical production as well as nurture confidence, passion and promote self-expression.
Running from Saturday 26th July - Sunday 3rd August (with a performance at a real theatre Sat 2nd August) we are now taking deposits on a first come first serve basis so get in touch to book your place now!
For more details feel free to get in touch - email info@shoutoutproductions.org

St Paul’s Players has been in existence for over 100 hundred years, and originally performed the annual pantomime and plays in the School hall of St Paul’s Church of England School. St Paul’s Players provide a variety of entertainment to suit all tastes, regularly producing a pantomime, a musical and a play each year. As well as the regular slots throughout the year, they are involved in helping to raise funds for the Church, holding Social Events including Murder Mystery Evenings, musical evenings and joining in events throughout the village.
