Amaline Theatre

Cardiff

Born in November 2005, Amaline Theatre Productions is a self-financing adult group based in Cardiff. Amaline's mission is to provide original, high quality, amateur productions. We aim to produce fresh, innovative and exciting productions for audiences of a wide age range to enjoy. Our most recent productions have used a small amount of film to extend the story and provide a greater experience for the audience. Amaline Theatre Productions was set up by Jacqueline Davies and Amanda Gaisford. Amaline has completed twelve productions to date. Our next production 'Beneath the Aurora Bridge' will be performed in June 2013. In May 2011, a decision was made to change the name slightly from Amaline Theatre Company to the present name. This was in response to the mixed media productions we have been producing. This also allows us to explore fresh ways of storytelling ...

Cardiff

The choir was formed in 1966 as the Cardiff Athletic Club Male Voice Choir, following a chance remark on the standard of after-match singing in the clubhouse. A group of dedicated supporters got together on a Monday evening to take the lead in improving the singing in the clubhouse. It was not long before the number of choristers increased and the reputation of the choir started to grow, bringing requests for performances for local groups and charities. In 2000, the choir changed their name to become the Cardiff Arms Park Male Choir.

Everyman Theatre

Twitter

Chapter Arts Centre, Canton, Cardiff CF15 1QE

Everyman Theatre, Cardiff's liveliest and most adventurous theatre company, was founded in 1942. It started life as the Unity Theatre Group, focusing on mainly political theatre, but later broke away and embarked on its own policy of presenting experimental live theatre in as professional and interesting a manner as possible.
In the 1970s Everyman was instrumental in the opening of Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff. This, together with the advent of the Sherman Theatre, brought a new era for Everyman. The 1980s saw Everyman's adventurous spirit lead to the staging of new writing in Chapter and in Stuttgart, an international festival in Southern Ireland and of course our own Summer Theatre Festival, launched in 1983 at Dyffryn Gardens, and now going from strength to strength - in its 28th year - at St. Fagans, National History Museum. The 1990s witnessed Everyman's 50th anniversary year in 1992 and two European tours.
Now in the 2000s Everyman continues to produce innovative theatre and encourage new writing. In recent years we have imaginatively staged prodctions including Lisistrata, The Madness of King George III, Uncle Vanya, Waiting for Goddot, Women of Troy, Zero Hour, Woyzeck, Ibsen’s Peer Gynt; Macbeth and the world theatrical premiere of The Seventh Seal.
The best way to introduce yourself to Everyman is to come along to our FREE regular Clubnights on Wednesday evenings at 8pm at Chapter Arts Centre. Clubnights are pretty informal, with a mixed programme and you don't have to be a member to join in.

Facebook  Twitter

Rhiwbina Memorial Hall, Lon Ucha, Rhiwbina, CARDIFF CF14 6HL

Rhiwbina Amateur Theatrical Society (RATS) was formed unofficially prior to the opening of the hall in 1957, at which time RATS became officially part of the Rhiwbina Memorial Hall and Community Association which own and manage Rhiwbina Memorial Hall and is a Registered Charity. Its first production was in February 1958, Agatha Christies 'The Hollow' which was repeated in April 1989 as our 100th.
For the last 20 years or so we have put on four shows a year, with at least one evening for our patrons. We also perform a very wide variety of productions and our high standards are recognised as virtually unique for a group performing in a village hall.
Membership numbers vary, but it is usually between 60 and 70, with ages varying from 16 to 70, which shows that amateur dramatics, though hard work is also a great deal of fun for all types of people and fellow performers often become firm friends. Of course it is not just performing, a production takes a great deal of backup and running the group takes all sorts of talents.
If you think you may be interested in joining, then all you have to do is turn up to the Memorial Hall between 7.30PM and 9.30PM on Wednesdays and Sundays. You will be made welcome and shown around.
So don’t be shy. Give us a try!
ATS is based in Rhiwbina Memorial Hall in Rhiwbina, Cardiff. In general, rehearsal nights are Wednesdays and Sundays between 7.30PM and 9.30PM, so why not come along and see us?
