DRAMA SETS YOU FREE

YOUNG PEOPLE grow in confidence,
GET CREATIVE, have fun and MAKE AMAZING FILMS!
Weíre an Ofsted registered drama school in Durham, employing qualified teachers, professional actors and successful filmmakers.
We guide our students on a journey of personal and social inquiry through structured arts activities, culminating in short films made by young people.
Our unique method, developed over 10 years, encourages young people to discover, develop and to celebrate their individuality.
We teach the core values across all our courses of CONFIDENCE, COMMUNITY and CREATIVITY:

#ACT2FAM
We donít assess and we donít stress. It isnít a test. We simply believe in the power of the arts to free us from our fears and transform our lives. More than a school, we are a big family, where all our everyone has something to give and something to learn; where there is a place and a purpose for all; where young people are at the heart of everything we do.
Check out the #act2fam hashtag on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, to see what our big family gets up to.
Testimonial:
"Been a student at A2C for about 5 years now and its given me not only the opportunity to develop and star in multiple films I've made with them but also given me a fantastic community who have developed my confidence, made tonnes of lifelong friends and also lead to paid work with them. Couldnít recommend it more.Ē - Charlie Pearson.

Bournville

BMTC have been performing for over 60 years.
They were affiliated to Cadburys and their venue was the 750 seat concert hall in the heart of Cadburys.
Many employees from Cadburys have treaded the boards at the concert hall, and shows such as The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Hello Dolly were successfully staged there.
Over the years Cadburys decided that the concert hall could no longer be used for performances by the BMTC, and with regret, our last production was Anything Goes in 2000.
We moved to The OLD Rep in Station Street in Birmingham City Centre for our London to New York show in 2001, followed by South Pacific in 2002 and our last production, Cabaret at the Old Rep in 2003.
Due to increased audience sizes and facilities offered by the Crescent Theatre we moved to this venue in Sheepcote Street for our sell out production of Carousel in February 2004.
