Ilkeston

The Ilkeston Theatre Company was formed in 1988 with the sole aim of giving an opportunity to any person who had a passion to be either on stage or work backstage.
You don't have to have previous experience. If you are keen to learn, then you are very welcome to join us.
To this day, the majority of local Amateur Theatre/Musical Societies require you to take a singing and acting audition before they let you become a member. It was obvious that many people had a passion to be on stage but didn't have the necessary skills. And so, Ilkeston Theatre Company was formed.
This principle has been maintained in Ilkeston Theatre Company to this day and most of the people you see in our shows had never acted or sung in public before they joined!
In order to produce two shows a year, a large amount of funding is required. The basic cost of each show is around £3,000. This means that members will organise themselves to raise money at local Carnivals and concerts to help with the production costs.
If you have the passion to be on stage, help backstage, in other roles or you would like to sponsor the Company in any way, please get in touch today!

Dronfield

A friendly, welcoming, church G&S group. We perform at Dronfield Civic and always welcome new faces
We are looking for new members. If you are interested please contact our secretary Tel 0114 2550951 or come along to rehearsals at our new church building Meersbrook Park United Reformed Church & Centre Chesterfield Road, every Friday at 7.30pm
The Society was formed in 1926 for the young people of Meersbrook Park Congregational Church. Over the years we have become one of the few societies that solely present the Gilbert and Sullivan comic operas.
The shows used to be presented in the 'tin hut' on Chesterfield Road and then in the schoolroom off Beeton Road. However just over 10 years ago our church was condemned and we moved to Norton Parish Hall. A few years later this was sold and houses are now on the site. We then moved to our current location at Dronfield Civic Centre. The society is open to anyone who would like to be involved either on stage or behind the scenes, just see our website or find us on Facebook

Melbourne Operatic Society

Melbourne and Castle Donington

Melbourne Operatic Society has between 30 and 40 members drawn from Melbourne, Castle Donington and the surrounding area. We meet on Tuesday evenings at Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel.
Our main event of the year is the performance of a Gilbert and Sullivan opera in March / April.
We also stage concert work, performing our own concerts in Melbourne and Castle Donington, usually in June / July and at Christmas. We can also provide concerts for other organisations in the area. If you would like more information Contact us via our website or social media. Concerts usually include some Gilbert and Sullivan, frequently as a taster for our next show, but the material covers a wide range, including popular songs and musicals of the last 50 years.
We are always on the look-out for new singing members. Whilst previous experience is desirable, it is not essential. Shows cannot be put on without an enormous amount of help, front of house and backstage, from non-singing supporters. If you are interested in either of these roles, please see Joining the Society. We pride ourselves on being a very friendly society and you may be assured of a warm welcome.
If you are interested in joining us, either as a singer or non-singer,
Contact via our website or social media
