Kenley Holiday Workshop

Kenley

Kenley Holiday Workshop is an established theatre company for young people aged from 8 to 18 years who spend a fortnight of their summer holidays each year preparing and presenting a full scale musical under the expert guidance of a talented professional production team.
Summer shows
For the summer show KHW meets at the beginning of August for a week of all day rehearsals in Caterham before moving to the Barn Theatre, Oxted, Surrey for the second week of final rehearsals and performances from the Wednesday to Saturday.
Their shows are performed to critical acclaim from local press and NODA and have been nominated for NODA awards. There are no auditions to join, but the summer workshop is limited to 50. Places are filled from a waiting list and all principal roles are cast from within the company at auditions in May.
Company Roots
The Company was founded in 1989 by Sally Dallosso and Andrea Green. In setting up the company the Co-Founders wanted to provide an opportunity for youngsters to spend some of their summer holidays developing character and social skills through the medium of dance, music and drama. Many ex-members have now gone on to make the stage their chosen career.
Fees
There is a fee to participate which is reviewed each year. A limited number of bursaries are available.
Some years KHW stages extra shows at Easter or in September and they have been invited to participate in various charity shows.

KADDS - Kingswood Amateur Drama Dance and Song

www.kingswoodvillage.org

Kingswood

Drama in Kingswood has an outstanding reputation and a faithful following. At its inception in 1980, it functioned under the banner of the KVCA. This proved so successful that after ten years, a separate drama committee was formed, known as KADDS (Kingswood Amateur Drama and Dance Society) to continue the wide variety of productions, which included classical and modern drama, comedies, thrillers, pantomimes, revues and Christmas shows.
100% of all profits are given to the KVCA for the upkeep of the hall, and this benefits Kingswood Village generally, by keeping the subscriptions of other hall users as low as possible. In order to continue the high standard and variety of productions at KADDS, we welcome interest from the local community, not only on stage and backstage, but through our audiences.

Kingston-Upon-Thames

Over the years Kingston Vale Theatre Group has attracted talented singers from all over the region who have performed in many of our musical theatre productions.
Having realised that some of these people are keen to be in a regular vocal group and enjoy learning and performing harmonies, we have launched the KV Choir.
The KV Choir sings a vast range of music, from gospel tunes to popular musical theatre songs. With singers trained from early ages, who have sung for most of their lives, and with a musical director that is professionally trained to lead such a strong group, the KV Choir is one that will leave people wanting more.
Should you wish to join the KV Choir then come and sign up to KVTG, if you're not a member already, and then we can invite you to one of weekly rehearsals for a very gentle audition. We are a welcoming bunch!

Sutton, South Wimbledon, Morden

Mayhem Musical Theatre Company (MMTC) was formed in 2006. We are based in South London and usually perform in the Sutton / Kingston / Epsom area. MMTC in its present form is a progression from a previous company called Mayhem Productions. Running successfully for ten years Mayhem Productions produced diverse and successful shows such as Little Shop of Horrors, Into the Woods, Oliver, Chess and Guys ‘n’ Dolls. Since MMTC was formed, we have produced a range of successful shows including We Will Rock You, Godspell, Into the Woods, Closer than Ever, Saucy Jack & the Space Vixens and Seussical the Musical.
MMTC aims to build on the solid foundation and experience developed over this time to continue to deliver accessible and innovative musical theatre in south west London.
We are an amateur company, but strive to produce theatre of a professional standard. We aim to provide high quality final productions combined with a relaxed, enjoyable and creative rehearsal process which offers a genuine opportunity for anyone interested in musical theatre - whether it is performing, directing, musical direction, dance, choreography, stage management, design, set construction, lighting, or publicity.
Any musical group revolves around its shows and membership and to that end we aim to stage two main productions a year - plus some smaller scale projects - selecting shows over the year that offer opportunities for the membership, interesting and vibrant theatre for the audience and an opportunity for the Company to grow and have a secure financial and membership base for the future. We are NODA affiliated.

Merstham

Merstham Amateur Dramatic Society (MADS) was founded back in 1930, (originally as an Operatic & Dramatic Society and in the days when rehearsals were conducted in evening dress!).
The Society was re-started after World War II, by Merstham author and actress Joy Anderson and went on to become one of the foremost Amateur Societies in the area. Plays are performed once a year at our home, the purpose-built little theatre which is Merstham Village Hall. The Society was a founder member of the Betchworth Drama Festival of One-act Plays (now called the Southern Counties Drama Festival) and notched up many successes in this local competition. We also competed in the now defunct Croydon Festival of Full Length Plays and have presented many plays in the Harlequin Theatre, Redhill.

Mid Surrey Theatre Company

Leatherhead, Epsom

We are an Award-winning theatre company which has been in existence since 1984. We perform high quality amateur productions, mainly at the Epsom Playhouse in spring and autumn.
Between productions, there are various social & fund-raising events.

Miller Centre Theatre Company

Twitter

Caterham

The Miller Centre Players was formed in 1991 following a merger of the Miller Centre Workshop and the Caterham Players.
Nine productions are staged each season, each running for nine performances. Rehearsals normally run for six weeks (three weeks in the Studio and three weeks in the theatre) and are usually held on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 8pm with one or two Sunday afternoons. Auditions are open to non-members although membership is required for participation in a production.
Anyone not wishing to tread the boards will find ample opportunity for involvement in a live theatre environment as all aspects of the productions are undertaken by members whether it be stage management, lighting, sound, wardrobe, set design and construction or scenery painting. Lack of experience is no barrier - our aim is for enjoyment coupled with a sense of achievement and the satisfaction of earning a good reputation with our audience.
In 2010, the name of the charity was changed to The Miller Centre Theatre Company although the previous name, Miller Centre Players, was retained as a registered working name.
A regular newsletter, ‘On Stage’, keeps members informed and new members are always welcome.
