Horsham, West SussexBarns Green Players have been around for 40 years. Over the years we have put on countless performances ranging from Shakespeare to pantomimes. We hope that those who support us regularly would agree that we always strive to make our performances as professional as possible. As past participants in local drama festivals we have won awards for acting, directing and set and costume design. We have also, on several occasions, won through to higher rounds of drama competitions and performed in professional theatres such as Fairfield Halls in Croydon. As entrants in drama festivals we have tried our hand at more challenging works and have learnt a great deal about acting and directing. We are not a large group but are lucky to have such skilled and committed members. Our talented backstage crew design sets and costumes but everyone gets involved with painting, sewing and making tea! If you would like to be involved in any way: acting, backstage, costumes, make up, scenery, painting, technical, or just making the tea. Contact us via our email, come and join in the fun.

There really is something for everyone! Barnstormer’s success can be seen from the numbers of new people who are keen to get involved every year (usually with no experience on or off stage) and the regulars who come back to see us every year! LocationAt B.H.O.S. our mission is to produce high quality productions that build on our history whist contributing to the community. Established on 2nd December 1886, The Brighton & Hove Operatic Society have been a continuous presence on Brighton stages. With over 250 full productions to their name they have played in nearly all of Brightons professional theatres both past and present. BHOS have performed nearly 80 times at Brighton’s Theatre Royal and produced The Domes annual Pantomime for the best part of 40 years between 1946 and 1986. Although the word “Operatic” no longer reflects the company we now are, it is important to retain our name so we can celebrate our long and illustrious history. To Date we have produced 50 plays, 30 Pantomimes and 180 Musicals so we are so much more than an “Operatic Society” However as the South of England’s oldest theatre company we made the decision to incorporate out traditional name with more modern branding.

Billingshurst, West SussexBillingshurst Dramatic Society was founded in 1941 and is still going strong to this day. Rehearsals and the majority of performances take place in The Women’s Hall in the High Street. Occasionally, the Society performs at The Barn Theatre at Fishers Farm. We put on two full length productions each year – in the state school half term weeks in May and October. We also put on a single night’s entertainment in February for the Friends of the Society. New members are always welcome. You don’t even need to act if you don’t want to as there’s plenty to do off stage. There’s no membership fee either: you just pay a show fee for each production you get involved with. Auditions are very informal. We hold social play reading evenings in The Six Bells on a regular basis and these are an ideal opportunity for would be members to come along and meet us in an informal setting. If you would like to support the Society without acting or helping backstage, you can become a Friend of the Society. This gives you one complimentary ticket per production, and priority seat booking. For further details of Billingshurst Dramatic Society, our Friends scheme, and our events, please see our website or social media, or contact us for further details: Contact: billingshurstdramaticsociety@gmail.com  |

Chichester
"I am proud I was a Chichester Player" - Brenda Blethyn, Chichester Observer, 2nd October 2008 Chichester Players is the local amateur dramatic society for Chichester and the surrounding areas. It has a large group of members, ranging from 18 year olds to those in their 80s, and plans to run a number of events for children beginning in early 2010. It also caters for an equally large variety of abilities, with a number of talented and experienced actors as well as those who (like the current Chairman!) rely more on enthusiasm than any acting skill. Chichester Players put on three plays a year, at Christmas, Spring, and Summer, and hold rehearsals for these plays on Mondays and Thursdays on most weeks between September and June. Both rehearsals and performances take place at The New Park Centre New actors are always very welcome to join the group, whether they have years of theatrical experience or none at all. We are also always on the look out for those who prefer to help back stage, with set & costume design, set construction, dressmaking, programme selling, poster design and stage management. Anyone interested should contact us via our website or social media  |
