Henfield Theatre Company

Henfield, West Sussex

We are a West Sussex based amateur dramatic company presenting four or five productions each year including plays, musicals and pantos at The Henfield Hall, and an open-air production, usually a
Shakespeare.
We have won numerous awards in recent years for achievements in the theatre and we are affiliated to the National Operatic and Drama Association (NODA), a charitable organisation that provides support to amateur theatre throughout the UK
Are you interested in acting and singing, or in an equally important supporting role such as set design and build, stage management, props, hair and make-up, lighting and sound, prompt, decor, costumes, front of house, publicity, or in our social events? For more information, please contact us
We have membership of about 250 people and a very robust Youth section that usually meets once a month for improvisation and workshops. An ‘in house’ show in aid of a local charity is given of their work and youngsters from this group also become involved in the plays and shows.
Throughout the year we hold various social events among which are organised theatre trips and a Christmas party.
We usually rehearse on Monday and Thursday evenings at the Henfield Hall and use the well equipped stage there to present our productions. Under the stage is a dedicated area where we are fortunate to be able to build and paint our sets, and keep some props. We also have the facility to provide raised seating for our audience during the performances.

Lewes Operatic Society

Lewes, East Sussex

LOS has been bringing high quality musical theatre to Lewes since 1911. Staging our productions involves a lot of hard work for a cast and crew of about 80. In fact, LOS is made up of about 200 members of all ages and from all walks of life. We stage two productions each year, usually at Lewes Town Hall. In the past we have also toured local villages and we even take shows to our twin towns of Blois in France and Waldshut in Germany. The society often puts on concerts and performs at functions too.
Recent shows have included The Boy Friend, Carousel, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Remember! Remember!, The King and I and The Gondoliers.
New members are always welcome! Besides performing, there\’s lots to do behind the scenes and loads of social events throughout the year - trips to see West End shows, country walks with pub lunches, stoolball and dwyle-flunking matches, summer garden parties, a Christmas dinner-dance, quiz nights etc.. There is a cheap members’ bar (or even a members’ cheap bar), a quarterly news letter (The Tower Times) and priority booking on tickets.
So, whether or not you are a seasoned performer there is something in LOS for you
